National Cancer Awareness Day is observed across the country on November 7 every year. Two-thirds of cancer cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, reducing patients' chances of survival, he said, according to an official release.
Our Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has decided to remove all stops to lower the national cancer burden by generating awareness about early detection and avoiding leading cancer-causing lifestyles. He said “Cancer, if detected early, could be treated at a fraction of the cost that is incurred when diagnosed at an advanced stage. Its mortality rate is also lowered substantially if people report for screening when the earliest symptoms are manifested.”
