Whether you are trying to control or prevent diabetes, your nutritional requirements should be same as others and no special types of foods are necessary. However, you do need to pay attention while choosing the right types of food mainly for the consumption of carbohydrates in your intake. While preparing a diet plan for diabetics doesn’t mean the patient has to be deprived, rather the diet plan should always be healthy, balanced, tasty, and also even boost up both mood and energy.A simple diabetic diet plan is described in the following.
Breakfast:
1 glass of plain water mixed with organic vinegar
2-3 eggs boiled or cooked in low-fat butter
1 small bowl of sautéed spinach
1 small bowl of melons or blackberries
1 cup of tea or coffee with low-fat milk or cream and sugar-free sweetener as optional
Total digestible carbsconsumedis around 10-12 grams.
Lunch:
90 g ofchicken cooked in olive oil
1/2 medium-sized avocado
1 slice piece of bacon
1 cup of chopped lettuce
1 cup shredded tomatoes
30 g of cheese or cottage cheese
20 grams of 85% dark chocolate
1 glass of black coffee or iced tea with sugar-free sweetener as optional
Total digestible carbsconsumed is around 25-30 grams.
Dinner:
100 grams of grilled salmon
1 cup of sautéed mushrooms
1/2 cup of sautéed zucchini
20-25 gram of chopped almonds or walnuts
1/2 cup sliced strawberries or blue berries with 1-2 spoon of whipped cream
4 oz of red wine
Total digestible carbs consumed is around 15-20 grams.
Therefore, total consumption of digestible carbohydrates for a day is near about 50 grams.
