Monsoon Diet Plan

After playing hide and seek for quite some time, the rainy season is finally here. As much as it is a relief, you need to be very careful too when it comes to your diet. Monsoon brings with it a lot of diseases causing harmful bacteria and because of the humidity, the digestive system becomes very weak too.
If you are into fitness and you generally depend a lot on fish and green leafy vegetables, this season your diet needs to be altered.

A Weight Loss Diet during the monsoon season will include the following items:
Seasonal fruits: Litchi, plums, peaches, apples, pomegranates, etc.
Curd
Bitter vegetables and herbs: bitter gourd, neem
Chicken
Ginger
Warm herbal drinks
Boiled water

Food items and ingredients that you should avoid:
Street food
Deep-fried food
Spicy food
Fish
Prawn
Green leafy vegetables
Milk
Salt
Oil

How To Lose Weight Fast during monsoon?

Here is a sample monsoon diet which includes a variety of Weight Loss Foods:
Breakfast: 1 bowl of vegetable poha or 1 bowl of vegetable Dalia upma
Mid-morning: 1 seasonal fruit (apple/pear/pomegranate/banana)
Lunch: 1 bowl of steamed sprouts and vegetable salad, or 2 multigrain rotis with one bowl of vegetables or one bowl of dal.
Tea-time: Herbal tea and one bowl of boiled peanut chaat
Dinner: One bowl of dal, two multigrain rotis, a plate of vegetable salad.

The above being said if you truly want to achieve weight loss during this monsoon season, ensure your weight loss diet keeps you in a calorie deficit. A calorie deficit means you burn more calories than you eat in a day. This is a primary factor when you are trying to lose weight regardless of whether you are working out at the gym or you are indulging in-home workout sessions.

Enjoy the rainy season for as long as it lasts. Eat healthy to make sure a stomach infection or food poisoning doesn’t spoil the monsoon season for you. Take good care of the fact that you prepare all your monsoon diet meals with unadulterated items or ingredients to keep yourself and your family protected at all times. Prepare yummy light dishes at home, maybe the healthier and more hygienic version of the street food that you’re craving during this season. Have a healthy and happy monsoon!
