Teenagers have variant physical, emotional, mental and energy needs than adults. Finding a valid and healthy teenage diet plan can be more complex and difficult than finding the appropriate diet plan for an adult. Adolescents, especially the younger ones, have bodies that are still growing and developing. Therefore their calorie needs for energy and spurts of growing are higher than adults.

 

Sheela Seharawat, an expert dietician and curator of Diet Clinic says that teenage diet plan is specially designed for a specific age when the teenage proceeds towards having puberty. This is a tender age which needs essential nutrients, calcium and fiber in their diet rather than calories and fats. It is when the bones are formed. Hence it is necessary to include more fruits and vegetables in the daily diet and drinking lots of water. Skimmed milk, low fat cheese and lean meat can also be included; these provide vitamins and proteins. Iron is as important as any other nutrient, so chicken breast, turkey and eggs are also important. Whole grains are good fibers
